About The Internship The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) is an apex body established under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 by the Government of India. It aims to provide free legal services to the marginalized and underprivileged sections of society. NALSA works to ensure that justice is accessible to all, particularly those who are economically disadvantaged, women, children, and other vulnerable groups. Through a nationwide network of District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs), State Legal Services Authorities (SLSAs), and the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee (SCLSC), NALSA plays a crucial role in promoting legal literacy, offering legal aid, and empowering citizens to access their rights. Internship Program Overview: NALSA offers a unique and valuable internship opportunity for law students to learn about the functioning of the legal aid system, the role of NALSA in advancing social justice, and the various initiatives taken to ensure the legal empowerment of marginalized sections of society. The internship is designed to give law students a deeper understanding of legal research, legal aid practices, and access to justice. Eligibility Criteria: The internship is open to undergraduate and postgraduate law students (LLB/LLM) from recognized law schools. Students must be interested in legal aid, public law, social justice, and human rights. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated interest or prior experience in legal research, human rights, or legal aid. Duration 1 month - The internship shall start from the 1st day of the month.
